The FixHer Up Project is a digital video series I created as my Capstone project during my final year in the Bachelor of Digital Communications program. Designed to make car maintenance easy to understand and accessible, the series offers easy-to-understand videos on essential vehicle knowledge—everything from checking tire pressure to understanding what’s under the hood.

What sets this project apart is its focus on education through empowerment. Drawing on my 10 plus years of hands-on car maintenance experience and 5 plus years of videography, I produced each video with the goal of helping viewers feel confident, capable, and informed—especially women who might feel intimiadated by traditional auto content and the men behind many of the videos.

The project launched across YouTube and TikTok, quickly gaining traction with over 1,800 followers on TikTok and 250 YouTube subscribers within the first few weeks. The content combines clear visuals, step-by-step instructions, and a down-to-earth tone to personally auto care and foster independence.

Project Highlights:

  • Produced, filmed, and edited a multi-episode educational series
  • Wrote and hosted all episodes with original scripts
  • Created supplemental social media content to drive traffic and engagement
  • Built a companion website to house resources and additional guides

The FixHer Up Project is more than a video series—it’s a call to take the wheel of your own car knowledge.
